Weekly Services

Each Sunday we gather for worship at 10:00 a.m.

In worship we come together to pray, listen, sing, reflect, praise, ponder, enact, lament, discover, connect – with one another and with the Holy at the centre of life, the one we have come to call God.

Sunday worship

We often begin with a time of centering as we let go of the stresses of our lives and open ourselves to be nurtured in spirit. We are blessed with excellent music offered by our Senior Choir, two handbell choirs, and special music from soloists and others. Readings from the Bible and other sources offer food for thought as we ponder how to live the “way” Jesus taught. And, upon request, we perform baptisms.

All members of the family will find the Sunday experience to be an engaging one, accessible for all ages. For parents with young children. the rows at the back of our sanctuary have more leg room for parents who would like to keep their little ones with them. We also have an area at the back of our sanctuary that is equipped with soft toys and rocking chairs, for families with young children to explore while participating in the service.

Accessibility is important to us at St. Albert United. We have hearing assists and large print hymnals for those who require them. Our building is equipped with a lift up to our Friendship Hall and an accessible washroom on the main floor to assist those with additional needs.

Seasonal worship services around Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter permit us a glimpse into the many expressions of God’s call to us. On Christmas Eve, we offer three separate services, one specifically for children. Check the events calendar for times.

Communion

We generally share in communion on the first Sunday of the month throughout the year. It is a joyful and special time in which we experience the love of God, the presence of Jesus the Christ, and the strength of the gathered community. In this inclusive congregation, all persons, including children, are welcome to participate in the Sacrament of Communion.

Children & Youth

Our children and youth begin their Sunday in the sanctuary before going off to explore the message in their own way. At various times of the year, worship services with all generations allow us to share God’s presence in new and different ways.

Our Sunday morning programming begins with all ages together in worship at 10:00 a.m. Following our Time for All Ages gathering during the service, our children move into their Sunday programs to explore worship, scripture, prayer and living faith together.

During the program year we have children’s programming available for ages 4 - Grade 5, and a youth group meeting twice a month for Grades 6 - 12. We also run an annual Vacation Bible School where children from our church and wider community enjoy a themed week of creative activities that grow their faith.
